They make their companies more efficient and profitable by analyzing different aspects of the business, including finance and employee productivity, and developing strategies and techniques to improve them. Administrative analysts are adept at locating and collecting pertinent information, which may involve working with department heads to retrieve reports and forecasts, speaking with subject matter experts, or observing employees in action.

Administrative analysts must determine what information is needed and where the best information sources are. They take varied and complicated data and perform analyses to see where their employer can save money or increase efficiency. They provide detailed reports based on their data analysis findings to management and create visual depictions of data, graphics, and charts and should be comfortable speaking publicly. Administrative analysts need a bachelor's degree in finance, business, or related fields.
