What does a Head Demand Planner do?
Demand planners work in a company’s supply chain to utilize analytical, marketing, and sales data to estimate future product demands. They develop an effective forecast model by paying attention to industry trends and demand patterns. They monitor and report essential changes to sales forecasts, business strategies, and budgets. They support company management with risk assessment and activities to help mitigate the risk and propose and implement solutions that accurately improve demand forecasts.
Demand planners conduct merchandising project reviews looking for their promotional effectiveness and perform competitive pricing analysis and review of merchandising strategy. They manage and prioritize steps for execution, inventory, or shipments based on customer specifications and available parts. They create and generate statistical forecasts using historical data, seasonality, and variability metrics and coordinate logistics to deliver launch products and support marketing materials. Demand analysts need a bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or related fields and a minimum of three years experience in demand planning or a forecasting role.

- Prioritize production based on supply chain deficits, product demand and sales forecasts.
- Monitor product costing with marketing at the item level for all categories.
- Build and manage the demand gen budget across all channels and systems.
- Propose and implement solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy.
- Evaluate, select and manage outside vendors that contribute to demand creation and field marketing programs.
- Monitor and report on campaign performance overall funnel conversion metrics.
- Research marketing trends to continually innovate and test new lead generation approaches.
- Work with CRO team to improve conversion rates from leads to opportunities.
- Serve as a mentor for other individual contributors on the team.
- Able to analyze data and construct reports to evaluate campaign success.
- Update order quantities, delivery dates and cost in compliance with proper authorizations.
- Provide actionable data analysis to support business cases for demand plans using data-driven methods.
- Work with cross functional teams to support sales and finance team in revenue attainment.
- Bachelor's or Graduate's Degree in business, engineering, electrical engineering or business administration, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with SQL, ReACT, spreadsheets, and enterprise resource planning.
- A leader and critical thinker with an eye for continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated business acumen and decision making skills.
- Fluent in statistics, spreadsheets, root cause analysis, and setments.
- Skilled at time management and negotiation.
