SHRM vs HRCI? I haven’t heard as much on HRCI HR Management certification. Do people ever get both? Does help to even have the certification from HRCI?

But the owner swears that if we just give our team more recognition, we'd stop having such high turnover. I have been applying to so many job postings and only got one interview. I receive so many Thanks, but no thanks letters. Some of which are very good and very personal - not the typical we value your time and appreciate you applying to our organization. I have altered my resume and letter via AI to really try to get "that job", but am 1 of 100's of applicants. I don't have a degree, but am obtaining my SPHR, have 25 years of experience and have taken courses. What else should I do?

HR Generalist
Has anyone ever been within a job and it is just not the right fit. Currently I am an hr generalist but used to be an hr mgr and now trying to go back is so hard. I have a supervisor who feels she needs to exert her authority and a director who wants to be everyone’s friend. It’s a wierd mix and I am trying to leave but no good bites. Any thoughts? The culture is full of favoritism, and a clique.

That’s what I’ve heard too. HRCI is more legal and technically heavy on the HR side. HRCI is much older as an org as well because SHRM was the new certification that came out of the divorce of the two groups several years ago. I have HRCI cert and I wouldn’t spend any of my money on a SHRM certification too because HRCI covers all of those bases and is more credible
From what I understand, HRCI is more in-depth, so it's a level up from SHRM. Both are valuable, but if you have to get one, I'd go with SHRM because it's more widely recognized.
HRCI was the original method of HR certification. Then SHRM split from them and created their own method. I find SHRM to be easier at recertification than HRCI.
I have both. HRCI has been around much longer and is probably more well known overall but SHRM is a good one as well. Whichever one you go with - get a certificate.
I researched them both and went with HRCI because I believe they have more credibility, though SHRM tends to be more popular. I have my SPHR and I appreciate the recertification process as it helps keep my skills sharp. I hear the HRCI exams are a bit harder. I studied independently for two months and passed on the first try. I don’t think both are necessary unless you start with the PHR or SHRM and want to level up to Senior down the road. I suggest you go for the Senior level first, if you feel confident. One hitter quitter!
