Do you experience that how long the hiring process would take at Thermo Fisher? I got my second interview with hiring manager at the beginning of November but I haven’t heard nothing from them. When I’ve emailed them to check in they just said that the process would be slow, no time frame. I would be able to get an offer soon from other company but work as contractor. Should I wait for Thermo Fisher?

I’d look as well for other jobs in the meantime. Hanging all your hopes on one hook can be very dangerous. Good luck. 👍🍀
Thermo Fisher can have a very long process. I have colleagues who had a 2-3 month process and some up to 6+ months. For me it took about 2 months.
Take the contractor role, Then bail out of the Contractor role for Thermal Fisher if they offer. Remember you do not owe anybody anything (except your family etc) do what is best for you. Thermal Fisher has given you nothing. Just a thought in the meantime as a contractor you are employed. Which makes you more desirable. You will learn new skills, and they might hire you if they like you. I was a contractor for a year with IBM. I told IBM I was leaving for a perm position. A month later IBM hired me full time. Always be open to better opportunities.
When you get an offer from Thermo (I know you have not) it'll take at least a month for you to start. It's always been that way since I came on 7 years ago.
I would not put all my eggs in one basket some companies timelines for offers takes a minute and then to onboard. Put yourself first, if you don’t get the offer an bypass a contract you could be starting all over. The recruiter should be able to give you an idea? Ask these questions to them to know the expectations
I understand the company is going on hiring freeze on certain positions and trying to get payroll cost flat. Maybe this will change next year
It took me almost 3 months. In my experience, it wasn’t the manager/ actual team you’ll be working with that was slow, they don’t have enough recruiters and they aren’t the best at their job. I had to email for every interview and they consistently forgot teams links etc. Don’t give up hope, but I’ll also warn you that Thermo fisher tends to pay low. We are also in restricted hiring likely until Q2, but depends on your department. They laid off a significant amount this year and many aren’t allowed to replace. Budgets are being approved by the end of the month so it should speed up
Why are you waiting for an unknown factor that you can’t control. Do you have bills to pay ? Take the contract job.
I am still awaiting to hear back , it’s been a month. PPD Athlone, there no hope right ?
