Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

Pros

I have gained some great friends working here at ARTSY.

Cons

I encountered one of the rudest and unprofessional experiences here at ARTSY. My friends who hear my stories are appalled at what I went through and to this day, I get disappointed. First of all,... ARTSY and management lack empathy. They do not care about you and your well being. There is developing finger pointing behavior but when it comes to management and their negligence, they turn the other side. When a problem arise, it is your problem. Pay is also extremely low and they ensure you get the smallest raise with terrible excuses. Lack of transparency. Lastly, some managers are amazing and are always looking out for their team, but mine was definitely not this type. Constant gaslighting, retaliating behavior, bullying, insecurity, and lieing. This manager of mine made me cry several times after work, and changed my entire personality. I am now skeptical and no longer bubbly as I used to be.

Current Employee - Trust and Safety Specialist

Pros

There are a lot of lurkers in the company. If I accurately document what’s going on, even to be fair to myself AND the company, they’ll figure me out. So, paranoia runs deep. Which is not a con! Not... necessarily. Not in trust and safety. You have to be a little bit rat brained. Pros… you get access to a deep network of smart and interesting people. Access. There’s a lot of swag and side perks: everyone is getting trips to New York. That’s cool. Generally, name brand is very good so people on the street like you. There is a blameless culture with respect to learning and mistakes and in a company admittedly learning on the fly, everyone makes errors. Insurance is really good! Stock awards are generous but with the vesting structure and the cratering economy and you get the idea. It’s the cool kids club. It really is. That’s the best we can do. That’s the best I can say. Room for improvement and maybe we’re trying.

Cons

It’s just a mess. And outsiders are despised. If you want a career either come with a glistening resume and a diamond plated backside, or go try Meta.
