Former Employee - Accountant

I worked at Heritage Education Funds full-time for more than 8 years

Great people and executives and owners

Cons

No clear direction where the company is going.

Advice to Management

Nothing. They got sold.

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

I worked at Global RESP Corporation full-time

Pros

Sometimes it's not busy and if you don't do anything at your desk, no one will notice.

Cons

Toxic and conservative culture. When I left, it was immediately after we had a staff meeting where the former CEO lectured us about not making enough sales, and claiming that we were all "too stupid... to find other jobs". Well, challenge accepted. I left a few months later and it was the best decision I ever made. Not sure what the management situation is there now, but if you Google "Global RESP Corporation" and "OSC", you'll get to read about their past legal trouble. Even if the past CEO is gone, I'm not sure you could stop a sinking ship. The people who have been there for years are not concerned with advancing their career, let alone demanding respect. If you keep your mouth shut and show up everyday to do your job, no one will touch you. They don't respect work-life balance here. The former CEO was so conservative that he would yell at you for eating at your desk around Ramadan, because he had to fast. They're definitely stuck in the middle ages here. But if that's your cup of tea, this might be the workplace for you. Also, I know for a fact that upper management directed staff to write fake, positive reviews on Glassdoor. So you should take what you read here with a grain of salt, or maybe a truck-load.

Advice to Management

Respecting employees is very basic, you should learn how to do that.
