Featured Review

Former Employee - Senior Marketing Manager

I worked at Zillow full-time

Pros

Good hours and work life balance

Cons

Large org, so promotion opportunities are slow

Current Employee - Technical Recruiter

I have been working at Bread full-time

Pros

Everyone who I've recruited to join chooses to do so, usually with multiple offers in hand, due to the opportunity to have an impact on the product as it scales. And because of the culture, team, and... innovative technology. With the acquisition, Bread is a more competitive company. Nothing's perfect, but we're on track to be a much larger player in this space, with the culture of a startup, and the resources of the multinational firm. Salaries at Bread trend higher because of that, as do opportunities to take on bigger roles and expand your career.

Cons

With the acquisition we're no longer a start up - we're a big tech company, and it's impossible to make that transition with zero growing pains. Changes in perks, new healthcare, brand new channels,... new decision makers - you can't add that and expect everyone to agree with the new vision, or even without expecting a degree of turnover when that hits. This is not an unbiased review - I'm on the people team and want people to join Bread, and I clearly think the pros outweigh all this. But this is objective advice for people interviewing: don't take my word for it. I'm proud of our culture but that's ultimately something you'll have to see and feel firsthand, when you meet the team. Here's what I don't think is debatable: for the right person, depending on your own appetite, there is an opportunity to have a huge impact here, which to me is the biggest piece of any decision to change jobs.
