Does Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago offer malpractice insurance?

Pros

Great coworkers, strong nursing governance, great CNO, the best patients

Cons

Lower end of pay and awful insurance. Resident physicians are rude to nursing staff and have poor communication. They spend more time updating their resident Instagram page vs. rounding with their nurses and families. High turnover recently - leading to rough staffing ratios. Floor nurses float to our CCU and get inappropriate assignments - lack of concern for patient safety and protecting a nurses license.

Advice to Management

You need to involved on the floor at least once a month - being disconnected from the bedside and lack of skills make your offer to help us on our shift useless if you don’t know how to do anything. Be humane - it’s okay to be compassionate toward staff before you email them about making up a weekend. Stop playing favorites to your friends who are staff nurses.

Lower end of pay and awful insurance.
