Does Artsy offer an employee assistance or workplace counselling program?

Pros

-The transparency at Artsy has always been a strong suit but has improved even more since Mike Steib started as CEO. Team members at all levels of the company get concrete and direct insight from executives in a variety of forums each week. It's hard to get a perfect score at transparency, but Artsy comes close. Those who are working at Artsy as a first or second job may not fully understand that what you get here is rare. -The operations at the company are the tightest they have been. There are still times where DRIs need to be cleared up or it takes a little chasing to get final approval on something, but overall things are moving as fast as they have, you are encouraged to try things, fail, and learn. And if you need help from a manager or exec, at least in my experience, it's easy to secure. -Our People team is fantastic and phenomenal. The amount of attention and care they put into the employee experience, employee surveys, explaining benefits, and compensation, and all other kinds of things that go into the Artsy experience and workplace is also very rare. You don't get this kind of attention and care at other companies—at least in my experience.

Cons

-There are a lot of moving points and a lot of different teams who have different concerns or tensions to deal with week to week; sometimes we can spend too much time listening to or addressing one team's concerns while ignoring another's. But this is probably true at many companies. -Our goal setting process each quarter can be improved. It feels like we often are setting goals while the new quarter is starting. I think at the department head level oversight can be tightened on our goal-setting organization and processes.

Advice to Management

Don't forget how much work goes into marketing. But otherwise, management has done a great job continuing to improve the company and keep things transparent. I am confident in their decisions to steer the company towards success.

How are the career development opportunities at Artsy?

Pros

Results-driven and transparent leadership team; genuine investment in people management and career growth within the company; truly never a dull day and it's exciting to be part of changing the art industry

Cons

Not really a con: Things move very quickly - this is actually positive for the business; however, individuals who are the most successful are easily adaptable and remember to over-communicate the high level "why" behind how decisions are made

Advice to Management

Keep up the transparency and investment in growth opportunities across levels of experience.

Very knowledgeable colleagues, transparency throughout the whole company, with a "people first" focus, and opportunities for growth abound.
