Quite simply...Bread gets it. Top to bottom, this company is full of amazing and talented people who are fully behind our mission of putting dignity back into the financing process. This company is a shining example of how to properly build an organization, and the word that constantly comes to mind is "thoughtfulness." From its leadership to business practices to culture.
Speaking of culture, I would put Bread up against any other company not only in the Fintech space, but in the entire NYC tech scene. In a lot of ways, working here feels like being part of a community versus a place of work. There are too many examples to count, but include everything from working groups to expand your skillset to events and activities (both in person and virtually). It's an inclusive and and warm environment where diversity is prioritized, and we are proud of our affiliation groups like Bread of Color and LGBreadTQ. As a side note, they way they've handled COVID-19 without skipping a beat has been truly incredible.
Bread is still early in its journey, and like most companies at this stage, has experienced its fair share of growing pains. That being said, they're on the right track now and are about to make some major (and exciting) disruptions. You're going to love it here if you want to work with innovative teams that leverage cutting edge technology for a mission-driven company that's doing really big things.
If you want something slow paced where you can sit on cruise control and collect a paycheck while playing ping pong in the office, you're not going to be happy here. Despite being well funded and with a growing headcount, Bread is still a startup. You need to be comfortable and flexible with lots of rapid changes happening on a daily basis. You need to be hungry and motivated because nobody is going to hold your hand here. Expect to be held accountable by your managers and your peers.
