Does CHOC Children's offer sponsored degrees?

Pros

There is tuition reimbursement, and that helps a lot

Cons

Staff isn't appreciated. If you are one of the favorites you get what you want, if not then good luck getting any hours. No bonuses. Raises are a joke. Would not recommend working here.

Advice to Management

Listen to your staff and maybe you would get less call outs. Use the per diem people. That is why they were hired.

How are the career development opportunities at CHOC Children's?

Pros

Good exposure to pediatrics, coworkers are awesome, they really care about your career advancement (mainly for the hospitals gain)

Cons

Pay is below avg, 2/6 supervisors know how to actually lead, can be boring at times (even for overachievers who've already done everything there is to do plus more)

Advice to Management

Learn how to actually lead and stop micromanaging. Lead with positivity and actually giving a heck about your subordinates. Become more engaging by actually caring about your workers instead of being robotic.

How is management perceived at CHOC Children's?

Pros

There is nothing positive to note.

Cons

This hospital works its employees like they are slaves. I worked overtime every single day and the management was passive aggressive and allowed certain employees privileges that were not given to others. The pay was not competitive and there is NO work life balance. Once you start don't ever expect a promotion or raise. It doesn't exist here.

Advice to Management

Hire people who are actually competent and pay them competitive salaries. Stop putting idiotic bimbos with MBA's from Pheonix University in positions of power.
