How are the career development opportunities at Cerner?

Pros

Select opportunities for career advancement for those that deliver value, accept preconceived plans for advancement designed by leadership, and promote the company's culture with every opportunity.

Cons

Antiquated culture at the top with male leaders driving the business and token leaders to carry the company's commitment to diversity. Talk the walk, but definitely do not carry forward actions to meet commitments

Advice to Management

Change the culture to be an inclusive and actionable matrix. Renew the investment in R&D and stop underdelivering on client commitments and resources because all resources have been leached to focus on potential and overcommitted national contracts

Why do Cerner employees quit?

Work Environment and the facilities provided are up to standards

Transitions without any information which spoils future of employees

Advice to Management

Hire a candidates based on Knowledge not based on Experience. Giving Senior positions to those who have experience in different field and a zero knowledge about the process which they hired for is meaningless and it affects the mindset of employees who has knowledge and no position. Please don't do any Transitions without any information, it spoils our future.

How are promotions handled at Cerner?

no pros for cerner as a company

Cons

Current team is overworked some doing the work of three associates, all openings have been closed and cant get more people, on call 24x7, zero opportunity to move to another team, lost senior title four months after promotion due to title restructuring, have had one good raise in the five years ive been here.

Advice to Management

focus on quality control, hire us based associates, pay your associates what theyre worth, give overworked teams the people they need to do their job effectively
