Does E*TRADE offer sponsored degrees?

Pros

Education, experience, and benefits. You will for sure learn a lot about the investment side of financial services from working here. It's not hard to transition to different departments and gain plenty of knowledge from each of them. You will have the opportunity to learn about trading, stock plans, operations, estates, tax and retirement, etc. You'll also be able to receive the series 7 and 63 license upon passing the exams. These licenses are highly sought after in the industry.

Cons

Work/Life balance, management, and productivity standards. I worked at the Alpharetta office, which is basically a glorified call center. It was very stressful taking call after call and trying to generate leads for E*TRADE's Financial Consultants, which you do not get a referral fee from. Many people, such as myself, have carried over the stress at work into our homes and suffer from what feels like PTSD.

Does E*TRADE offer unlimited holiday?

Pros

Good people, benefits, and I feel like the company really does want to become a great place to work. They're inclusive of all types of people and walks of life. Pay seems to be a bit above average compared to other offers I received for similar roles from their local competitors offices (Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley).

Cons

Overall the company is a little behind the times. There no freebies (snacks, swag, etc...) besides bad coffee and the occasional site lunch. All Ops analysts are hourly until they get promoted to Senior which can be a pro if you're working overtime but that is always restricted. This isn't a "cool" new tech company so time off has to be accrued and is limited. Good luck trying to take time off if it hasn't been approved weeks in advance. The worst thing is there seems to be so much red tape and it feels almost impossible to get any serious improvements done. Tech is so backlogged and a lot of the internal systems don't seem to have been updated since the company started so they are ugly, not user friendly, and slow.

Advice to Management

You're doing good at trying to make it a better place to work, but being inclusive can only get you so far. Some free daily snacks/drinks would be nice. Spend the money to get your systems up to date.

Good luck trying to take time off if it hasn't been approved weeks in advance.
