What is overtime like at GRVTY Media?

Pros

Being a small scale startup, it meant being able to get to know my colleagues which inherently made working alot more enjoyable. These friendly but professional relationships made giving honest constructive criticism alot easier especially during problem solving discussions. With GRVTY Malaysia's growth mindset, everyone was constantly pushed to reach bigger goals. And these goals were set based on a discussion with our team leads on our strengths, potentials and weaknesses. Working overtime is also discouraged. So when we were done with our tasks and due diligence (eg content quota of the day), we could spend the rest of the time working on a passion project of our choice, be it creating a new content segment, learning new skills or looking for more inspiration. Plus, being a pet friendly office meant having the occasional furry friend to play with and de-stress during work. Worry not, they're very well trained and well behaved pets! I can truly say I enjoyed my time working here.

Cons

As the team structure was small and lean, the workload can get a little heavy at times. But that's also dependent on the employees time management skills and the leads are also open to discuss how they can help their employees work better.

Working overtime is also discouraged.

What is the work environment like at GRVTY Media?

Pros

The work environment is pretty fast. As a writer, you'll need to cover many topics - entrepreneurship, technology, product reviews, etc. so there's no shortage of topics to write about. You'll be constantly learning something new about the industry. It's a good place to develop your voice as a writer and grow your skills. I like that they encourage you to pitch your own stories and brainstorm together as a team. Teamwork is part of the company culture, and they have monthly outings for team bonding and just to hang out. Overall, it was a fun place to work at and I'm glad I did my internship here! Also, you won't be short of wondering where to eat as there's lots of choices. Parking is impossible to find though.

Cons

The work environment is pretty fast, which can be pretty challenging. Especially when there's deadlines to meet and you're running short of time. But that's mostly part and parcel of the industry.
