Does LoyaltyOne offer employee discounts?

Pros

Most of the 1 star reviews seem extreme to me, your experience will really depend on the team you are working on. I expect that large wave of negative reviews comes from laid off employees after recent corporate restructuring. -Nice office environment with standing desks and dual monitors -Free snacks and other perks -Good work life balance and most teams are flexible with remote work -Corporate travel discount -Earn 4 weeks vacation after 5 years tenure, fast for a private sector company

Cons

-Incompetent managers on some teams -VPs sometimes unwilling to let go of long-tenured managers and shield them from criticism despite their lack of results -Business is still on the path to recovery after hit from the 2016 expiration scandal -Uncertainty in future of the business as it is widely suspected that the US parent company is looking to sell LoyaltyOne. Hence the recent restructuring and cost cutting

Cons

Hey days long gone and here comes the pain. Struggling to meet financial top and bottom lines. Board of directors of the parent company is keeping a close eye on everything and everyone in the company. A lot of great folks have left the company and those who are still here are either unhappy or looking.

Advice to Management

Stop pretend that everything is going well when it's not. Be honest and open about the current state we are in. Let's be more transparent on both short and long term outlooks of the company.

How are the career development opportunities at LoyaltyOne?

Pros

Nice open office but there was nothing wrong with previous office. Great concept to sit anywhere and on any floor and work with your laptop. Free shuttle bus to and from Union station. Company perks are nice but not as good as used to be, slowly things are cutting back. Some lunch and learn seminars. Allows to work from home but it's frowned upon even there's a policy to work from home. Some great associates, a mixture of young and older.

Cons

Too many managers, and many are not trained to be managers, were promoted by manager friends, most have attitude and are selfish, management does not care about the staff. HR is useless and sides with managers. Employee KPO reviews + annual bonus is a disgrace and below industry standards. Senior Leadership team has no direction about AIR MILES reward program since the miles expiry controversy, it has become a PR nightmare and a sinking ship. Too many upset clients and collectors that some withdrew from the program. Less workload, too much stress, can't trust some people, too much backstabbing, poisoned workplace. No career advancement.

Advice to Management

Time to clean house from top to bottom and including those that worked there over 20 years and the presidents! Streamline and or merge departments and cut back on managers. Time to change the direction of the program, inject some new leaderships and face the reality or die despite strong competition from PC Optimum, new Aeroplan, and other loyalty programs. Really pay attention to employee feedback. Immediately switch to One Balance like all loyalty programs, Dream and Cash balance is not resonating with collectors well. Listen to collectors and staff not the shareholders.

No career advancement.
