Pros
Job-wise, it can differ from school to school based on the work and school culture. You can also apply for HQ where you will have a greater say in policy making and curriculum design. Work hours can be quite flexible depending on the time of the year but can also be very hectic. Consider carefully what your career objectives are before applying for teaching. It’s a stable job but the opportunities for growth may be limited by the nature of the job.
Cons
Sometimes, meetings can revolve around very minor issues and things can take forever to be decided. There are also limited benefits for employees (eg. minimal medical and health benefits). Having to work with multiple stakeholders (eg. Students, parents and other faculty members) may sometimes be stressful, but if you’re a people-person, you may enjoy this job more. Also, bringing work home after your day ends and during the weekends is normal.
