Does Ministry of Education Singapore have a pension plan?

Pros

Job security. If there is nothing on in the afternoon, you get to go home as early as 1.30pm.

Cons

No Pension. Small amount medical claim a year, about $360. Need to get personal hospitalisation insurance on your own. Risky 1 year No pay leave. You might end up with no school placement as you have to source for your own school to come back to. In other words, NPL is strongly discouraged.

Does Ministry of Education Singapore offer sponsored degrees?

Pros

Just do the job and you are paid timely.

Cons

As the headline states, you cover everything. We are supposed to be all well trained in all aspects -- accounts (draw up CCA budget, bill coaches etc), cheerleader, customer service officer to both parents, students, school leaders, counsellor (trauma/career guidance), event coordinator, art and creative personnel (e.g. design posters/videos), bouncer (e.g. to manage discipline by showing presence), coach, admin/clerical duties and lastly teaching (both in school and sometimes as a free-paid personal tuition teacher).

Advice to Management

Start rethinking about all the training and additional roles that you plan the teachers to be well in while saying that you are lightening our load (e.g. by using tech to take attendance and forms) to add on more things to do.
