Does Openreach offer relocation assistance?
Pros
I’ve worked for the BT group for 3 years of which the last 6 months have been with Openreach. Everyone I have come across is knowledgeable, passionate and also very helpful making it a brilliant working environment. I love the ethos around hybrid working as there isn’t an obligation to work from a central office, whatever works best for you and your stakeholders. The Exec team are very visible, inspiring and are always open to suggestions on how to further improve the culture within the business. They offer a very lucrative package which includes a basic salary, a discretionary bonus, car allowances and a number of different benefits such as private medical cover, dental cover, cycle to work schemes etc. Colleagues who work here generally have long-tenure (>20 years) which means you can establish a career here, progress and build a great life for you and your family.
Cons
At this stage, there are no cons. The only challenge is we are in an era of constant change so it’s high-intensity and pressure but let’s be honest, most businesses face this predicament following CV-19.
Advice to Management
Keep up the great work!!

Does Openreach have a pension plan?
Pros
Good working life balance, Some great engineers, pension.
Cons
Really tough career progression, management not aware of what goes on and don’t particularly care. Becoming more target based and Senior engineers overworked due to lack of knowledge leaving the company and not being filled.
Advice to Management
Revise the career pathway as it is flawed, how can a 3 year apprentice get paid more than a 7 year time served engineer because of one course and stated there is no funding for training but there is when training apprentices? Employ the correct people into the correct roles not because it’s someone’s mate.
Good working life balance, Some great engineers, pension.
