Pros

My coworkers are awesome, the employee discount is much appreciated, and helping people help their pets is pretty rewarding.

Cons

Over worked and WAY underpaid/under appreciated. You’ll be expected to do the work of three people and barely be able to pay rent. Corporate makes all the right promises but never follows through.

Advice to Management

Pay your employees a living wage it’s that simple. Yeah sure in two years starting pay is supposed to be $15 company wide but if you just cut hours while raising wages you’ve not really raised wages have you? You keep doing raising prices but your employees are making the same hourly wage they were 9 months ago and you’re cutting their hours. O and have I mentioned that inflation is at an all time high meaning on average employees are making way less than they did last year. Corporate wonders why stores are meeting goal; well the answer is simple: one or two people cannot provide customer service, check in new inventory, work out overstock, and do paperwork. Many times myself and my fellow coworkers find ourselves having to work off the clock just to keep the store running. Corporate has also started requiring all stores to order five weeks in advance which has led to an insane amount of overstock. 30-50 pound bags of pet food are stacked six feet tall against every wall in the stock/break room. This creates an unsafe work environment. On a related note our store has to receive all shipments at the front of the store which creates a dangerous environment for customers and their pets to shop in. Spilled food broken pallets, and packing materials fill the front of the store making a perfect storm of tripping hazards.
