Does Wipro have any sort of mentoring programme?

Pros

Entrepreneurial to a large extent and with latitude oriented towards growth, still less political compared to other Indian origin companies and lots to learn.

Cons

Ambiguous compensation with no clear pay predictability, too bureaucratic in delivery, leadership at top levels declining, low mentorship, no clear direction in company direction, too many silos, support staff have more powers than sales and delivery. Acquisitions have not integrated well so its value is diminishing and people leaving.

Advice to Management

Bring back core of Wipro DNA instead of just replacing with inferior leaders from TCS because they probably know CEO, give more latitude to operating units, have some common sense in planning and achievement planning. Need new CEO, CFO, COO and President HR for sure as they got maximum hike while company slid to number 4 and employees have got low single digit raises at max. Leaders and employees need a fairness in compensation proportionate to their effort instead of 60 pages long compensation formula.

Ambiguous compensation with no clear pay predictability, too bureaucratic in delivery, leadership at top levels declining, low mentorship, no clear direction in company direction, too many silos, support staff have more powers than sales and delivery.

Why do Wipro employees quit?

Pros

Salary on time. That's it. If you're here just to get some decent money and ready to do any work that is thrown upon you irrespective of your interests, skills, and qualifications, then this place is for you.

Cons

A lot. No hikes, annual bonus - After working for around 2 years, not a penny change in salary. You will just get your salary as a benefit, apart from that nothing. Not even some gifts on Diwali or anything. Nothing's organized - On joining, you get assigned a primary supervisor randomly. You call that person, he doesn't have the slightest idea of this. You get assigned a project randomly. You call the project manager, he doesn't have the slightest idea of this. You call the assigned HR, she doesn't have the slightest idea of this. On the first day, we reached Pune as per the instructions in our mail, we are told that we were supposed to go to the Bangalore location. Nobody knows how things are operated in this firm. Communications - Man, what to say about this. People are so unprofessional here when it comes to communication. They don't know how to converse. HR's are unnecessarily rude without any reason. You ask them to give a project which aligns with your skill set and interests, they tell you to leave the company. You ask your manager regarding the appraisal, they laugh it off without giving any proper answer. Projects - You'll be assigned a random project irrespective of your qualifications, skills, interests, background. On one floor, a CA was doing technical testing. An MBA in finance was doing manual testing. They will give you anything to work upon without considering anything. Everything is about the client - Even I agree with this point, a company should put their clients on top. But that doesn't mean you have to be so harsh towards your own employees. If the client is exploiting your employees, only you can stop that from happening. But we don't get even that kind of help from Wipro.

Advice to Management

Be employee-friendly. Hire the right people for the right projects. Don't hire people if you don't have projects.

HR's are unnecessarily rude without any reason.
