Step1: Screening of resume by HR, where they'll ask you basic questions like tell me about yourself, why akamai(visit their website and know about their work,CEO,clients) ,description of the job which your applying for, sound enthusiastic. This call lasts for about 2-3min
Step2:Hiring manager would call you up for technical interview,Basic questions on HTTP,HTTPS,DNS, concepts which you have mentioned in your resume, how Google works, caching, why akamai etc. This technical telephonic call would last for 30min.sound enthusiastic and communicate well
Hr will mail you if you are selected or not, If selected, they'll give you topics to choose for ppt(enough time given to prepare-1 or 2weeks)
Step3:They'll ask you to come to their office to give a ppt on the topics:HTTP or DNS.you'll have to present in front of 3 interviewers and the duration given is 1hr.You can either sit/stand while presenting.LCD TV is used and also you can make use of the whiteboard for explanation.keep min no of slides (upto 15slides keep more of pictures and not the content)as they'll drill you on each sentence of your slide.explain everything in simple words, read worldwideweb specification while preparing, indepth technical questions, they can also give scenario related technical stuff to see how good you are at problem solving,be positive, smile, also they check for your communication skills, make sure that you complete your ppt, don't make them question more. I lost in this round as i couldn't complete my ppt,not that i had put too many slides..they questioned me for 30min nonstop due to which I wasn't able to complete.. the interviewers are least bothered/ ignorant.Around 97% of them get rejected in this round for no reason.Candidates prepare their ppt, practice well, takeout their time from their busy schedule, travel so far..management should keep an eye on these interviewers who behave in such an ignorant/disinterested manner(bothered about their meetings, working on something else)
Further rounds:5 puzzles(30min),managerial(keep your cool), namesake hr round(last round)
