Apollo.io initially expressed serious interest and moved me through multiple rounds, including interviews and a multi-hour take-home assignment requiring detailed legal tech strategy and operational planning. I delivered it in good faith.
One glaring issue was being scheduled with stakeholders who I’d likely have little to no interaction with in the role. This felt more like optics than meaningful evaluation, and a poor use of candidate time.
After all that, the process simply went dark. No feedback. No closure. Just silence. For a company that asks so much of its candidates, this was deeply unprofessional.
Advice to Apollo.io:
If you're going to ask senior-level professionals to deliver strategic work for free, at least have the courtesy to close the loop. And if you want to attract top talent, ensure every interview serves a real purpose—not just a checklist.
This kind of behavior isn’t just a hiring misstep—it’s part of what drives younger generations to disengage from corporate America entirely. People are tired of investing in companies that treat transparency and basic communication as optional.
