I was referred by a previous coworker, I didn't get any conversation with a recruiter and was passed over directly to who I guessed was the hiring manager. The interview was with two people who I still don't know the roles for. Person A opened with congratulating me on a great career (?) and proceeded to do that 3 times over the interview. They were very confrontational through the interview process and sounded like the classic PMP tough-armed approach of "my way or the highway" with Person B taking notes, who I guessed was the hiring manager? The interview felt more like an interrogation, giving me little room to breathe and explain how I am effective in my role. Person A seemed to not believe any of the results I've had in the past. Person A asked me the strangest interview question I've ever had "who are you loyal to, the team, the pmo, or the client" and demanded a single choice. Huge red flags. Person B after being silent nearly the entire time asked me in this group setting what my salary band request would be and both people seemed to not like my answer? They also couldn't give me a clean answer on the salary band for the role. Then they ghosted my emailed questions for a recruiter to send me a decline.
Overall, the strangest interview I've probably ever had with some massive red flags for culture and inner politics infighting.
