Nearly 4 weeks after applying on line, I was selected for an interview.
I arrived at the set interview location and time. Office seemed unusually quiet. Friendly workers offered assistance as I waited. HR greeted me with a shocked expression, mumbling and apologizing something about not having scheduled an interview because my acceptance email of the interview/date/time was deleted, so HR assumed I hadn't replied. HR admitted to finding my response email and confirmed I did indeed reply, and continued to apologize, and proceeded to round up the two people who were to interview me.
A hasty meeting was booked. Both parties seemed disinterested. A quick 20 minutes and both had to be elsewhere. Brief discussion with HR followed as to salary and availability. It was made clear to me that this employer followed salary guidelines set by local employment outreach type of organization. It was then disclosed that previous employee in this position "was no longer with them".
