Unfortunately as a candidate, I was very disappointed with the interview process and the candidate experience was not great. First, I got an email asking for my availability for an interview. I responded right away and then the recruiter went silent, as someone who has been on the job search for over a year and been ghosted, I was afraid it was happening again. I waited a few days to follow-up when they finally got back to me which makes me wonder if I had not followed-up then would they ever have reached out. After they got back to me, given days had passed, they decided to schedule the interview the next day. I asked for them to reschedule a few days out since it was way too short notice and I had been waiting days to hear from them.
Had the interview and it was standard. They clearly told me they were meeting with the hiring manager later that week and should have a response of next steps in a week or two. Two weeks passed, again radio silence (yes, sent a thank you email). Emailed them a month later to check-in and ask if there was an update. Few days later, a generic rejection email. Do better. Makes me think once again that if I had not been the one to reach out asking for an update, I would have just been sitting in workday. The fact that I had to reach out and ask, only to be given a generic rejection email. Not a great candidate experience.
