External recruiter reached out via LinkedIn and did an initial screen. Scheduled a video interview with the CXO for the next day. Very fast moving.
Recruiter interview was pretty straightforward.
The company interview was looking for someone who met their job description (mainly project management) but also was a SME in some technical skills on Day 1 to fix a current issue (why not hire a tech SME instead?). Was not outlined well in job description.
Not sure if the interviewer knew exactly what type of candidate they needed, as I met their requirements on paper but they changed their requirements during the interview. Felt unorganized. I would think a director role would be doing less of the tech work and more of the organizational, management, and growth work.
