      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Comcast in Jan 2019

      Interview

I applied online and a week later an HR rep called my phone twice in the middle of the work day without leaving a message. Odd. She then sent me an email asking to set up some time for an initial screening. I replied and we settled for a time later that week on a Friday. The time comes for her to give me a call. 15 minutes pass and no call. I send an email asking if she would still be calling me, because I had another meeting starting soon. I told her if we needed to reschedule that would be fine and provided my availability for the rest of the day. She calls me 45 minutes after our scheduled time (while I'm in a meeting) not once but twice again. I decide to step out of my meeting to pick up her second call. As I say hello all I can hear is clacking on a keyboard. She finally realizes that the phone is no longer ringing and then starts rattling off because she assumed she hit my voicemail. She says she experienced "network issues" earlier and would find another time for us to connect and hangs up in seconds. I don't bother calling back because I assume she would respond to my email. She doesn't. The next Tuesday I send a follow up email asking if she would still like to connect. No response. I reply again on Thursday. No response. This is the most unprofessional interview process I have ever experienced. Glad that I didn't even get past the initial screening because dealing with HR seems like a nightmare. Hire better people for recruiting because their unprofessionalism is allowing potential talent to fall through the cracks.
