      Customer Account Executive Technical Interview

      18 Mar 2011
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Comcast in Mar 2011

      Interview

I applied through the website on a Thursday or Friday, got a call on Monday. Brief interview over the phone with the HR lady, few questions like are you a citizen, do you have a diploma, do you have customer service/sales experience, real simple questions. She then determined I qualified enough to take a personality/skills test. She emailed it to me, the test took about 45 mins to 1 hour. It was 4 sample phone calls with multiple choice questions. Also personality quiz. I passed the test so I then recieved an email for an invitation to come to a group information session the following Wednesday. The information session explained of what Comcast was all about, history, benefits, advantages and disadvantages of working there. Then you have an actual one on one interview with a supervisor. This is where I got really nervous, although I was very prepared I thought. The questions that were asked was not of interviews I had before. It was a behavioral based interview. The sup asked questions like "Describe a time when you had dealt with a difficult customer, what steps did you take to resolve the situation? or How do you deal with a customer who does not understand technical terms? Tell me about a time when you...." The questions were not like "Whats your strength or weaknesses, what did you do at your previous job?" This information session lasted about two hours. So I got a phone call the next day, and the HR lady said that they would like to offer the job to me. I just had to pass a background check with my past jobs, criminal, and making sure that I have a HS diploma. Oh and also a drug test within 48 hours. Training for 90 days. The HR lady was extremely informative. The information session was great it gave lots of information. The sup however was very hard to read. I think I did a horrible interview, I was nervous, I stuttered and all of the above, and to my suprise I guess he liked me. For all you if any potential Comcast candidates, I wish you luck in your interview. I really believe that once you are called for a group information session, just act very interested in the company, and answer any behavoiral interview questions the way they want you to according to the job description THEN you are golden: Doesn't matter how nervous you are or inconfident you might seem.
