A couple phone interviews, excessively long at-home coding assignment, then an on-site interview. On-site included lunch with team leads, and many interviews with me and a small group of employees. Everyone was friendly, helpful, engaging, and very smart. All was well until the very end. When we started discussing salary, start date, and decision timeline, they expressed some very unrealistic expectations that seemed to imply a real lack of respect for my time and agency. Overall experience was mostly positive, but there were some serious red flags at the end.
