After applying, I was contacted via email and asked to respond to two prompts and send responses in a word document to one of the interviewers. After that I was asked to do a 30 minute interview. During this interview, I was told that the preferred location for this position was actually out of state. They asked me if relocation was possible (I said no). This was surprising because the job advertised was specifically located in Lafayette, La. The interviewer did state that “it wasn’t a deal breaker”, but it was very disingenuous and unprofessional to spring that on someone. It felt apparent that the person that could relocate or even already lived in the preferred area, would be chosen. Near the end of the interview, I was asked if I had any questions. They couldn’t even give me a salary RANGE. The male interviewer said he wasn’t even prepared to provide that information. I said I had more questions, but since the 30 minute “introduction” interview was almost over. I was told the second interview would be in-person and more in-depth, so I advised them I would hold my questions until then. Less than 2 business days after interviews were concluded I received an email stating they had hired someone else. In-person interviews did not happen because they simply couldn’t have in that short amount of time. It was an unprofessional and misleading process.
