      Difficult interview

      Application

      I interviewed at EAI Technologies

      Interview

The process started with a phone screen followed two technicals. They said next would be systems design and interview with their CEO before full day rapid fire interviews on site.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at EAI Technologies

      Interview

It was a 2.5 week long series of interviews. The interviewers mostly take notes in silence and provide very limited feedback. Despite how they may describe it in the invite, each interview will be a technical interview (30min~60min) on a shared google doc. The recruiter was quick to respond and follow up, however I had the impression that the interviewers were disinterested in the interview. They are constantly interviewing for entry level positions. They interview hundreds per month but only hire a few per year, good luck. - Pre-screening: --- Predictive Index Cognitive Assessment - Interview 1: --- Initial questions about position (describe your journey, salary range, etc...) --- Tech questions: 3 in 20min --- Q1 & Q2 - I forget, but not too difficult --- Q3 - create a class to represent a node in a node tree - Interview 2: "Tech round" --- Interviewed by 2 developers --- 2 questions on a shared google doc --- Q1 - Given a number and array, return true if two numbers add up to the given number --- Q2 - Given a node with a numerical value (from a binary tree), return the total sum of each node - Interview 3: "Senior Round" --- I didn't make it past this round --- Interviewed by 2 senior devs? (they only said their names, nothing else) --- 1 questions on a google doc --- Q1 - How do you multiply two very large numbers ------ Tricky question about overcoming your programing language's bit limitation on numbers ------ Think about representing it as an array of smaller numbers

Thank you for the feedback and a detailed view of our multi-step process. We clearly call out during our scheduling process that it will be a technical after you get past the initial hello phase. We do use Google docs with Hangout video as we like the free form nature of Google Doc which allows the candidate to choose any language including pseudo-code to solve the problem. We are more interested in approach to the problem and how one thinks versus having specific knowledge as we have to continue to pick up new technologies. You are correct in that we are very selective to protect the culture that we have with the EAI Family. We are open to entry and experienced team members but everyone goes through the same cycle. It does not appear that you had a good experience with us though you seemed to have continued to almost the last stage. Good luck in finding an opportunity to your liking. Cheers, V

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at EAI Technologies in Nov 2023

      Interview

Did both stages of the interview within a week. First round: HR Screening. Short meeting where the recruiter reads off a script some questions then you answer. Then you are linked to a google form where you are asked very basic questions to code in a language of your choice. Second round: Meeting with two software engineers. No questions asked just went straight to coding problems once joined. They watch you code and assist you with your answer if anything is missing. Thought I did well, but did not get a email back after completing this round. Did not feel good or bad about the interview process. It did make me realize that I wanted a more personal interview instead of one that seemed very choreographed.
