Bait- and-Switch. Short and somewhat evasive. Lowball salary range. It's really unfortunate how companies do this to qualified candidates. I took a chance on this role because it aligned with my skill set, despite no salary being posted. I researched the company and found multiple reviews mentioning low pay and overwork, among other things signaling high turnover.
This was not a senior role it was a junior one. The job description advertised strategic content leadership in addition to writing, but the interview revealed it was 'writing only.' This was a senior-level JD designed to attract qualified candidates, only to lowball them with a salary about 25% below market rate.
Whoever takes this role will most likely be overworked and severely underpaid. My questions revealed that the issues some of the older reviews mentioned still exist and then some. Even the interview invite was haphazardly put together. I knew that was the beginning of dysfunction, but I pushed through to the interview to see if other red flags would be validated. They were. I declined to move forward in the process after the interview.
