      IOS Developer Interview

      25 Mar 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Everlight Solar

      Interview

After applying for a position, the candidate is sent a link to take a skills assessment to test their mathematical and written skills, plus a 10 key and typing test. As other interviewees have noted, most keyboards (especially on a laptop or Mac) do not even have a number pad now, so taking a 10 key test is asinine and might only be applicable for a data entry position. The 15 minute recorded interview: The interviewer was dishonest about needing to "save on bandwidth" when turning their camera off. Other interviewees have noted this same poor experience. I had to press the interviewer to be honest why they turned off their camera. Even this initial process was a poor method to assess a person's skills and if they are a proper match for the position they interviewed for. The interviewer even admitted to not knowing anything about the position besides the job title. This interview process is a mess and is in vast need of improvement. Do not have people jump through senseless hoops, especially when such assessments or initial screenings do nothing to properly assess a person's skills and qualifications. I would consider this one of the top five most bizarre interviews I’ve gone through.

      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Everlight Solar (Phoenix, AZ) in Mar 2024

      Interview

I can confirm just like everybody else, it was a weird experience, almost as if they never had intention to hire you in the first place. They messaged me in LinkedIn, gave me an assessment and immediately set up an initial interview online. Then after another assessment, they sent me a 1hr online interview again talking more about what I do, comparing myself to my best friend, who has more OCD, etc. Then more personality assessments. 3 days later, they told me they are moving forward with someone else. That's fine because their pay was below average

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Describe your best friend and your differences. Who is more competitive Who has more OCD
