I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Gensler in May 2016
Interview
I first submitted my portfolio to a contact who had been referred by a professor. I also applied separately to the Strategist role, so at this point I have no idea if they were interviewing solely based on the referral or the application. The questions were standard but I'm wondering why they interviewed at all. The contact rescheduled three times, which was a red flag in and of itself. They seemed unprepared during the meeting, and if they'd already viewed my portfolio (and I don't think they had), they should possibly have already known the majority of my experience is in interface design and not the "branding" design they seem to tout. I find it bothersome when people are late. I know we're all busy, but if you can't make it on time to a quick conference call, don't attend at all. I was mostly just curious to speak with them, but the entire endeavor felt like an empty waste of time or possibly as if they were doing me some kind of favor. All in all, not impressed and possibly the largest waste of time (interview-wise) thus far.

Question 1
Walk me through your portfolio, what's your understanding of Gensler, where do you want to be in 2-5 years. The usual.
I applied online. I interviewed at Gensler (New York, NY) in Mar 2024
Interview
They took a long time to reach out to me and they were very intimidating during the interview. I was asked simple questions like tell me about yourself, walk me through your case study.

Question 1
Why do you want to be part of the design strategy development program?
Was my first interview, generally quite chill, but lots of different questions. The intervier was nice and tried to chitchat after everything ended, I'd say that the interview was quite nice but the organization of the recruitment wasnt the best.

Which work from your porfolio is you best and favourite.
I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Gensler (New York, NY) in Mar 2017
Interview
There was first a phone interview and then a video interview. I enjoyed my interviews a lot and it helped affirm my decision to work at Gensler. They seemed like they are enjoying their jobs a lot as well and that Gensler really supported their career.
