Manager of Digital Lifecycle Marketing Interview

      8 Feb 2016
      Anonymous employee
      Mill Valley, CA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Glassdoor (Mill Valley, CA) in Feb 2016

      Interview

      1) Recruiter Phone Screen - 15 minutes 2) Director Phone Screen - 30 minutes 3) On-site: 4 people, 30 minutes each (all levels: entry, director, manager, vp) 4) On-site + Presentation: 3 people, 30 minute each and one 30 minute presentation. Overall, the process was great. To start, the recruiter provided a few tips about the questions the director would potentially ask. The tips were helpful to understand what the role might entail and if your experience fits. The on-site interviews were not too difficult. I brought work examples and was comfortable with the job requirements so the conversations went smoothly. We focused on industry trends, best practices, and my approach to applicable marketing situations. Again, if you know your stuff and have examples the interviews should go well. I could tell cultural fit was important which was great to see considering GD's current growth. From my perspective, they are taking the time to build teams that are well vetted and set up for success. I have interviewed with a few tech companies in the Bay (HotelTonight, Gusto, Hotwire, Apttus) and GD's process was by far the most efficient, professional, and enjoyable I have experienced. The team was welcoming and willing to get to know me on a personal level. During the whole process, I knew where I stood and my potential Director was responsive. When there was a change in the schedule, I was called and informed why and provided extra information about my interviewers. I cannot praise GD enough for the process. Had I not been presented an offer, this would still stand out as the absolute best model of how a company should go about hiring their staff.
