My first interview was very basic and didn’t provide much insight into the role or company. The second interview, with the head of the Account Management team, was where I decided to end the process early.
The interviewer’s tone and approach came across as unnecessarily arrogant and dismissive. I understand the importance of assessing a candidate’s skills and knowledge, but this can be done respectfully. The interview quickly shifted into a “role-play” scenario that did not feel relevant or necessary for an Account Manager position in a marketing agency. When I questioned the approach, I was told that “our clients are way tougher than what I am,” which didn’t make sense to me and didn’t match the nature of the role or industry.
Overall, the experience did not reflect a collaborative or professional environment, and it made me question whether the company values respectful communication.
