The process was pretty unorganized. First I had a screening with HR, followed by an interview with the hiring manager. All interviews with the hiring manager are basically just going over your personal experiences with the software. Then I was called by the same person in HR who asked me to come in for an on-site interview. Then the HR person called me again a few days later to ask for another phone interview instead with the same hiring manager. After that phone interview, I was told I did not get the job basically because I was overqualified.
I am constantly astounded by companies who think it is okay to say they are going to call on certain days and then do not. Just because many companies do it, does not make it okay. It is extremely UNPROFESSIONAL. Hubspot was obviously another disappointment on that front.
Hubspot's method, if you will, is to hire people into support roles and then have them move up later on. If they are not willing to hire people who are already qualified, then I suspect they are not hiring the best candidates.
