I had an awful experience interviewing at this company. At first it started okay, with a simple phone screening and then an invitation to interview in person. They requested my college transcripts, and a writing sample and I spoke at length with about three people for about an hour. However it went downhill with the 2nd and 3rd interview with the President that felt unlike any interview I’ve experienced. I even had to do a “quiz” where I was questioned on railroad terminology, but of course I don’t know much about. Usually you would learn these things on the job but not here I suppose because the President wanted to test my aptitude for the work but it just felt a bit humiliating. Totally unethical interview process. In the end I received an offer, but again it was another test to see if I could do the work bc I didn’t have the right skillset, rather than making a solid commitment on me, which again didn’t feel great especially after such an extensive interview process. I understand I am an entry level candidate, but I don’t think I deserved that. Any other company would just reject the candidate they don’t seem suitable instead of just leading them on and then giving them such an disappointment result.
