The lengthiest interview process I’ve ever been through. Almost 2 months and 7 interviews ranging from 45 mins to 3 hours, including a working interview as the last step where I got to work on creating a large scale display for their store.
All interviews were in-depth and some questions were very challenging. I was told the hourly wage was $20-24 for the position (you’d think it was way more based on the process). Pay is below market rate specially given the cost of living in the area. During the process a lot of the different folks I met with made me feel like I’d be getting an offer. I do find that unprofessional, especially given what followed.
I was told I’d have an answer a few days after my last interview. A week went by and nothing. The following week I sent a follow up and was told in another week I’d hear something and nothing. After spending so many hours of my time and working for them for free, you’d think they would at least have the courtesy to follow up, give me some feedback or tell me to move on. I ended up sending another email to HR to try to get a concrete answer and later on received an answer that they decided to go in a different direction after spending 11 hours interviewing me.
Honestly, at the end of the day, I’d rather not work for a company that treats people that way. They’ve now lost me as a customer as well.
