The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (San Diego, CA) in Aug 2010
Interview
I was contacted soon after I submitted my resume by a very professional and warm recruiter who asked me a few questions and set up an interview. The interview with her was very good, we both attended the same university and generally got along. She called me the next day to set up a second interview with the Director of Operations. She was a little more direct, still friendly but not as friendly at the initial recruiter. The office is beautiful, set in a very professional district with upscale decor. Advice on the interview - be direct and yourself. You don't want to sell yourself in to a position that doesn't fit.
Straightforward process, interviewed with them on campus. They provided the information I needed. I decided to not move ahead with the interview process as it did not align with my goals, but the interviewers were cordial and professional.
Felt like they were selling me something the whole time. Super easy to talk to, but something just felt off the whole time. Had multiple phases of them explaining why they're so perfect and great to work for (massive selection bias in some of their numbers)
