      Android Engineer Interview

      18 Jul 2017
      Anonymous employee
      Chicago, IL
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at ORA (Chicago, IL) in Mar 2017

      Interview

I was contacted by Donnie on LinkedIn. She was very friendly and made the process quick, unlike some other recruiters I have worked with in the past. I sent in my resume and got a response not too long after. Donnie sent me the Android code challenge, a simple design template, and the contact email of a software engineer encase I had any questions. I had 5 days to complete it, she said to contact her if I needed more time, but I ended up finishing within the original timeline. From there I had a webcam interview and an onsite interview concerning my familiarity with Android, java development practices, and process practices. Part of the Android interview covered me explaining a few decisions I made in my code sample. It went fairly smooth. About 1 to 2 weeks to get a response after that. Which, overall, was much quicker than the time I was waiting for other companies / recruiters to get back to me with an offer.

      Question 1

Questions about Android inter-process-communication. It wasn't unexpected but it was difficult, I wish I did just a tad more studying before I went in the interview.
