Got called from an in-house recruiter for a phone screen out of the blue after applying online (i.e. no appointment), and then had an in person interview with a panel a few weeks later. Very old school canned questions ... "tell me about a time ...". One of the interviewers seemed very disinterested like he didn't want to be there. I figured I didn't get the job after not hearing anything for several weeks, then out of the blue the recruiter calls me 3 weeks later and says they want to do a second round, although this time she asked me to do an "assignment" and prepare slides for the interview which I thought was strange given I am a seasoned professional, not some straight out of college newbie. Another panel interview and I gave my presentation. Recruiter said that she would get back to me that week (that was over 6 weeks ago). I get it if I didn't get the job, but to not be called after spending that much time is very, very unprofessional and reflects very poorly on the company. If she is too "scared" to call someone to tell them they didn't get the job, she is in the wrong profession. I talked with a local head hunter who said they have had the same experience with this lady who doesn't get back to them as well.
