I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at RBC
Interview
Applied in early June, haven't heard anything for more than 2 months, then in September got an email requesting information on mobility. Got a 30-minute phone interview shortly after that was quite detailed, with some situational questions. Then a group interview followed with 17 other candidates which honestly felt very awkward; think praising your competitor for a job that you applied to, and saying why they are the best candidate for the position. Then followed a sales pitch for a random item they would give away with some time to prep, then a 1-1 role-play with handed out scenarios. After that we were told that we would get an update in 2-3 business days, and instead it was 4 days. I only got an automated email saying I'm not the right fit for the position, and my emails requesting more information on the decision were ignored, while other candidates got phone calls (even on declines), and many got offers for a client advisor position; one tier lower than banking advisor. I did not appreciate the lack of transparency regarding the decision made, and the total lack of communication thereafter. Moreover I did not appreciate the fact that I got an automated email instead of a proper phone call.
