After being contacted by a manager at role mapper, we arranged an initial conversation about my experience and availability. I proceeded to the next stage which was a brief interview with a senior member of staff who asked me general interview questions. Both calls went well and I proceeded to the 3rd stage which was a written assessment that required me to identify activities within a job description and then provide overarching statements of responsibilities. This took quite some effort to read through and complete. I was initially told that after that assessment I would meet the two CEOs for a final meeting before finding out if I had gotten the role. However, I was surprised with another assessment, this time verbal, where I would enact a role-play with the two managers I had previously spoken with. According to them both, I performed very well and was told they would reach out to me within the next few days as they wish to move quickly, and arrange a call with the CEOs. After 1 week of radio silence, I decided to reach out for an update, where I was told that although they felt I met many of their requirements, I lacked experience in the HR/Reward arena, which is an essential requirement and therefore could not progress with my application further. This was to my surprise because if it was such an essential requirement, why did they allow me to go through 4 stages of interviews, just to be told no? To add further distaste, the role ended back up on the same job site where they reached out to me initially a few days later. They did not give the role to another candidate but are very much still on the search for one. It was a waste of my time, especially after I put so much effort into it.
