      Full Stack Developer Interview

      28 Mar 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Simplr (San Francisco, CA) in Mar 2019

      Interview

Everything was fine until the VP of engineer comes in. He directly ask a question without introducing himself. He give me a system design question with a symptom and ask me why and how to improve. Based on this symptom, I give one likely cause and that is obviously not what he's looking for. Then he starts saying he never saw this before, so I must be wrong and accuse me of not knowing stuff. Now three weeks passed, there is no follow up with their HR so I guess I didn't pass. Clearly this company is not open minded, I just feel I wasted 10 dollars and my time to go for the interview.

      Question 1

In a typical website system, if some user experience page not load, what can be the cause and how to improve it?

We strive to offer every Simplr candidate a great interview process. You should have received a response following your interviews, we are sorry that this did not happen. Also, we do reimburse transportation/parking. Please reach out to our recruiter and we will get this fixed. Overall, our interview process and questions are designed to assess a candidate's background and relevant experience for a role at Simplr (in this case, the scalability of our services). Currently, the individual who does the phone screens has a shorter on-site time slot but we will re-visit this decision based on your feedback. Thanks and good luck in finding your next role.
