      Flight Attendant Interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Spirit Airlines (Fort Lauderdale, FL) in Sept 2015

      Interview

I applied online and did the assessment, then got an invitation to the hiring event in Fort Lauderdale for Sept 22nd. The event started at 7 am promptly. Get there at least 30 mins early even if you rsvp. They start out with an introduction to the company, tell you all about Spirit airlines, the role and salary of a flight attendant, then they break and allow you to decide if it's a good fit for you. Spirit is not like the other airlines at all. They really make you feel welcome. After the break they move you into 5 smaller groups. There were about 350 applicants total. The interview was a three part process. The first part is having you get up I front of your group and introduce yourself, and answer a fun question that you pick out of a fishbowl. This part, they are looking for confidence and ability to follow directions. Once everyone has introduced themselves, they go in another room to discuss and then they make the first round of cuts. The second part is a group exercise where they break you into smaller groups of 6 or 7 and you are challenged to create an airline as a team. All they are really watching for is your ability to communicate within your team and how you work in a team. Again, they leave the room and come back to make another round of cuts. At this point I would say about half the people that were there have been cut. Then you break for lunch and come back for a face to face interview with one flight attendant and one recruiter. You're then asked to go into a room and wait for about 15 minutes. At this point, you find out if you are hired or not. If they ask you to go put information on the computer, you've been hired. It all wraps up with filling out background check information, drug test, and a badge picture. The best advice I can give you, is be yourself, be confident, and bring ALL of the items (passport, resume, ID, SS card, copies of the originals and your diploma or transcript).
