Nice TA person that was positive and enthusiastic
Most other people at the business were asking Qs loaded with red flags - how do you manage internal conflicts, how do you approach an angry customer…
VERY focused on being in 3 days a week - I get it’s a cultural thing but I also got the sense that there was absolutely no wiggle room if you were feeling a bit ill, had childcare or had a doctors appointment - you are in Tues-Thurs, every week.
Some (inc VP) spoke about having to let go people because they ‘didn’t cut it’ on the interviews - really speaks for itself….
Revenue model is designed around time to go live - got the sense that this added huge undue pressure on delivery teams and this came across in my interviews
Death blow was after speaking with VP who was extremely unsettling and passive aggressive, my view had formed that this was a chaotic workplace and management would likely be very difficult to work with / micro manage - decided to reject
To sum it up, whilst I did really want to work at Wagestream at one time, it really just didn’t seem like people were happy and if they’re not projecting that even on interviews I don’t want to imagine what it’s like inside…
