I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Summitt Trucking (Stafford, VA) in Oct 2019
Interview
Basic puppy mill. They only require 6 months of experience. I think they should require more experience due to the types of loads they haul. Recruiter does actually tell you the truth unlike most companies. Small company trying to be a big company.
As soon as I walked thru the door a very pleasant receptionist received me, with a great attitude.
The interview went really good, the interviewer was friendly though looking for specifics. The type of person that wants to hire someone to work and not be fooling around but all very smooth when talking and asking. I didn't feel nervous, I actually felt like around friends. To me, this is a clear sign that I will feel comfortable and will wake up every morning to do what I most like.
I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Summitt Trucking (Clarksville, IN) in May 2012
Interview
There wasn't much on an interview really. I showed up for group orientation and watched training videos. Took a road test etc. They never said the words "you are hired". Just met the dispatcher and he told me when to start. The biggest problem I had was finding locations. The add said Erlanger,KY and the "interview"/training was in Clarksville, IN. So it was the Safety department that called and they knew the Clarksville address, but didn't really even know where the Erlanger yard was. So finding the truck for my first day was something.
