      Customer Success Associate Interview

      23 Sept 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Swivl

      Interview

I applied online and was quickly offered a phone interview. At the end of the phone interview, I was offered and scheduled an in-person interview. At 9 pm the evening before my in-person interview, after I had arranged time off and prepared extensively, the hiring manager emailed me to inform me that my interview had been canceled due to them closing another candidate. Inconsiderate and unprofessional.

I am sorry that you feel this way -- it was not our intention. We did not want to waste your time by having you interview for a closed position. From the company's perspective, interviewing is a process — we have candidates come in, we try to figure out if there is a match, we offer positions, sometimes people accept and sometimes they do not. It is not a predictable process, especially in the later stages. The day before you were to come in, someone accepted our offer. Up to that point we did not know if that person will accept it or not — it could have gone either way. But once the offer was accepted, we felt it would have been unprofessional to have you come all the way, spend time talking to us, while knowing that the position was no longer available. After I saw the Glassdoor review, I talked internally with my team and found that a lot of people feel the same way -- that it would have been better to interview, even if the position was not available. One learns more about the company, gets interviewing practice, and sometimes good outcomes can happen. So we are going to adjust our process and do things differently next time.
