I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Syneos Health (Morrisville, NC) in Oct 2023
Interview
The process was super long for a relatively junior position, and recruiter was extremely disrespectful including one of the product owners who indulged in asking me personal questions. The seemingly wanted me to remain part of the interview process because they had to check some boxes with me before they could give an offer to someone that they really had in mind. I was talking to random people who did not introduce themselves, did not care to explain why I was talking to them based on last minute interview requests, and were pretty disrespectful when they started asking me personal questions.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Q1. Describe a project that you have worked on in the past Q2. Trade-off between True-positive and false-positive rate. Q3. An idiotic question, if you select a point on the ROC curve, how can you determine if that point is statistically different from another point on the curve. Essentially, compare two data points to check for statistical significance.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at Syneos Health (Cambridge, MA) in Nov 2023
Interview
I want to share my deeply disappointing experience with Syneos Health's hiring process to alert potential candidates about the company's lack of professionalism and transparency.
After a lengthy and rigorous interview process, I was given an oral offer, which I was excited to accept. However, shortly after, the recruiter informed me that there was a company reorganization, and my offer was essentially voided. This sudden change was already quite unsettling.
To make matters worse, the recruiter later contacted me, stating that the position had reopened and asked me to reapply. This was perplexing and frustrating, as I had already passed the interview and received an offer. Reapplying felt like a waste of time and a disregard for the effort I had already put in.
I sent several follow-up emails to the recruiter seeking clarity on my application status. Despite my repeated attempts, I was kept waiting for weeks without any solid answers or updates. This lack of communication and respect for candidates' time is unacceptable.
This experience has left me with a very negative impression of Syneos Health. I hope the company takes this feedback seriously and improves its hiring practices to avoid putting future candidates through such an unprofessional ordeal.
